Let’s Celebrate the 100th Day of School!
Making a photo booth is a fun way to incorporate 100th day of school activities into your classroom. Celebrate the 100th day of school by snapping a fun pic of your kiddos with this cute, easy to assemble photo booth. Then, complete a “100 Days Smarter” writing activity to go with it.
You Will Need:
- Foam Board (I got this at Dollar Tree!)
- Colorful Paper
- White Cardstock
- Straws (again, Dollar Tree!)
Assemble Your 100th Day of School Photo Booth
- Print the lettering on bright colorful paper of your choice. Cut the lettering.
- Mark a 4 inch border around your foam board. Carefully cut out the center. (Enter teacher-husband because I do not like cutting with blades!)
- Place lettering around board to your liking and glue into place.
- Print the 100th Day of School photo booth props on cardstock and cut.
- Attach a straw to the back of each one for the kiddos to hold while they pose and smile!
100th Day of School Writing Activity
So you took some adorable 100th Day pictures of your kiddos, now what? I like to share the pics right away with the portfolio and class story features on Class Dojo. Then we complete some narrative writing about how they’ve grown as learners over the first 100 days of school. Then I attach the photos to their writing, print out the banner, and boom – a cute, easy bulletin board display! Side note: I like to print the pictures at home because I have HP Instant Ink, but before I had this “endless” printing supply I used my local Walgreens. I could always find a coupon code a print a class set of photos for around $2.00 with 1-hour pick up!
100th Day of School FREEBIE Activity Ideas!
When I Am 100 Years Old Photo & Writing
I downloaded a FREE app onto my phone called AgingBooth. It’s super easy to use and tons of fun! Snap a pic, make sure the face is lined up, and poof- you’re old gray and wrinkled. It’s hilarious! I save these pics to the photos on my phone, print and use them with this adorable writing narrative prompt “When I’m 100 Years Old…”
You can grab this writing paper for FREE here!
(Disclaimer: I do not like or condone some of the other free apps the PiVi & Co have on the app store, they are in very poor taste. But the AgingBooth app is perfect for making cute old-folks pics of the kids.)
Dance and Count to 100
I could hardly imagine my classroom without GoNoodle! But more on that later. GoNoodle.com has a wealth of free videos to get your kids moving and songs for the 100th day of school are no exception. We will also celebrate the 100th Day of School by moving and shaking to GoNoodle’s Count to 100 song, and Skip Count to 100 song. They are both SO fun, I’m sure you’re kiddos will love it as much as mine do!
